Description:

Born into unfortunate circumstances—with little money and even less to eat—penniless Charlie finds himself daydreaming about Willy Wonka’s delectable chocolate bars. With nothing to look forward to but cabbage soup and his grandparents’ tales of the elusive candy maestro, Charlie’s happiness is spread thin. That is, until Mr. Wonka opens his factory gates to 5 lucky golden ticket finders.

As the winners—obese Augustus Gloop, spoiled Veruca Salt, gum-obsessed Violet Beauregarde, television addict Mike Teavee, and our hero, Charlie—navigate around the factory, surprises pop up at every turn. From chocolate waterfalls and everlasting gobstoppers to orange-faced, wavy-haired oompa loompas, the children find that the biggest surprise of all is Willy Wonka himself.

Written by award-winning playwright David Greig with dazzling costume designs and choreography to boot, this beloved children’s story is brought to life against the backdrop of ingenious stagecraft and quirky, heartfelt music.
