Description:

Enjoy a guided tour by bus and on foot. See Poble Espanyol, an open-air museum, as well as sports facilities from the 1992 Olympic Games and take a cable car ride for a bird's-eye view of Barcelona.

Start with a sightseeing tour on a bus that takes you up the elegant Passeig de Gràcia, where you see the most famous Gaudi houses, casa Batlló and La casa Mila (La Pedrera) as well as other majestic buildings of the Modernism era.

Head to the sea and admire the buildings from the 1992 Olympic Games. Drive by the Olympic Village, the Olympic Port, the beach, and the fisherman’s quarter, called Barceloneta, the Port Vell, and Plaza de Colon with its famous Columbus monument, indicating which way he sailed to reach the Americas. This point is also the beginning of the famous Ramblas of Barcelona.

Drive up Montjuïc and take a cable car ride offering precious views of Barcelona. Back on the bus, pass facilities built for the 1992 Olympic Games—the Lluis Companys stadium, the Palau Sant Jordi, and Picornell swimming pool. Then visit the charming Poble Espanyol, a Spanish village with 117 life-sized buildings from all over Spain and a demonstration on handcrafts made in this country.

Go to the city center to see the Venetian Towers, the Montjuïc fountains, the MNAC, and Las Arenas, built over the ancient Plaza de Toros. At Plaza de Catalunya start a walking tour and follow your guide to the Gothic Cathedral, along narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter, and to Plaza Sant Jaume, site of the city hall and the Catalonian government headquarters. The tour ends at Plaza de Catalunya.
