Description:

Immerse yourself in 17th-century sights and sounds at a living history museum that displays the lives of Pilgrims and Native Americans. Interact with them as they reenact their daily tasks. Learn about what it was like to literally build lives for themselves from the materials they had on hand.

During your drive from downtown Boston to Plimouth Plantation your professional guide explains the history of Plymouth and the arrival of the first Pilgrims on the Mayflower. Upon your arrival, you're immediately ensconced in the early farming and maritime community.

Actors speaking in Old English describe their daily life and how they accomplish tasks we take for granted. Watch how cooking and farming was done in the 17th century. You're encouraged to ask questions of the knowledgeable actors. Next to the colony, American Indians demonstrate how the Wampanoag's ancestors lived and how they interacted with the Pilgrims.

In the Craft Center at Plimouth Plantation, artisans demonstrate the 17th-century techniques that American Indians and English colonists used to make tools, pots, headdresses, clothes, and furniture. This experience is not to be missed.

Finally, board the Mayflower II, a full-scale replica of the original ship that English colonists sailed to Plymouth Rock. Walk around the ship as actors recount their journey and their living conditions during the Atlantic crossing.
