Description:

Journey out of Brussels and through the rural Belgian countryside to Bruges, known as one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cities. Spend the afternoon strolling around its café-lined canals and ancient cobbled streets on a walking tour of the city center, a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site.

Begin your afternoon by visiting the Church of Our Lady and admire its eclectic mix of architectural styles. Marvel at the charming statue of the Madonna, one of the only sculptures by Michelangelo found outside of Italy.

Wander through enchanting cobbled streets on your way to the pedestrianized Market Square, dominated by a striking belfry tower. The square was once the city’s medieval trade center, but now functions as a meeting place for locals and a great spot to people watch from one of its many cafés and bars.

From here, you can either take an optional boat tour along the canals, or spend your free time exploring on your own before your journey back to Brussels.
