Depart by bus from Antigua Guatemala and head toward Honduras while you tuck into a delicious and convenient boxed breakfast, served en route. On the way, listen to your guide share information about Copán. Founded around the 5th century, this collection of ruins was once the flourishing capital of a Maya kingdom.

Arrive and explore the Acropolis, once the main square of the great town, featuring 2 large plazas and the famous Hieroglyphic Stairway, depicting the most influential Maya kings. Like many ruins from this era, Copán has various temples and altars as well as a ballcourt, where Maya people once played ancient and ritualistic games.
