Description:
Experience the scenic, natural wonders of Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest, exploring the lush Daintree River area with stops at Alexandra Lookout, Tribulation Beach, and Mossman Gorge.
Begin your trip with pickup from your hotel and head north along the coast to your first stop at Rex Lookout. After viewing the area's beach and mountains, travel beyond Port Douglas to the mighty Daintree River. Upon crossing it via ferry and reaching the winding, picturesque road toward Cape Tribulation, pay a visit to Alexandra Lookout and see the coastal road you just traveled, the Daintree River's mouth, Snapper Island, and the Low Isles.
Continue then to the Daintree National Park before stopping for some morning tea. Later, make your way to Cape Tribulation itself for a walk on the beach or a trek to the Kulki Lookout. Back across the Daintree River, enjoy lunch and an exotic tropical fruit tasting at the popular Daintree Tea House. After your meal, embark on a tour of the river, keeping your eyes peeled for native wildlife, including crocodiles.
Round out your Daintree excursion at Mossman Gorge, the southern edge of the area. Take a walk in the dense rainforest and look out over granite boulders and the clear waters of the Mossman River. On your return journey, stop at the local Daintree Ice Cream Company and try some locally produced ice cream (own expense) before heading back to your Cairns hotel.
