Description:

Dig into the history and heritage that envelop the Scottish Lothian on this full-day guided tour. Visit the 15th-century Rosslyn Chapel and be captivated by tales of Masonic symbolism and explore the inspiring landscapes of the Scottish Borders.

Your morning tour starts with a drive down to the Scottish Borders, where you stop at the world-renowned Scott’s View. Take in the far-reaching sights of the distinctive Eildon Hills, once a favorite view of Sir Walter Scott—make sure to photograph one of the best views in Britain.

Continue to the small town of Melrose, located at the foot of Eildon Hills, and explore the ruined Abbey. Dating back to 1136, this historic building is one of 4 Border Abbeys founded by King David and the burial place of Robert the Bruce's heart.

After driving through Galashiels town and over the smooth slopes of the Southern Uplands, you arrive at Roslin, home to the famous Rosslyn Chapel. This iconic building is known for its fine architecture, cryptic carvings, and mysterious aura. Hear captivating stories of Freemasonry, the Knights Templar, and the Holy Grail, recently brought to life by a best-selling novel, “The Da Vinci Code.”

Then take a stroll over to Rosslyn Castle and walk along the bridge, site of the penultimate scene in “The Da Vinci Code,” the movie. Here you have up to 2 hours to uncover the ruins and history of the fortified castle before heading back to Edinburgh.
