Description:

Scotland is renowned for its craggy landscapes and peat bogs, glistening lakes, storied stone castles, and—of course—its whisky. Journey through the scenic Highlands, gain insight into Scottish history, and have a chance to sample fine whiskies on this comprehensive tour.

Leaving from Edinburgh, head north into the Highlands on a comfortable coach. Ride over the Fourth Railway Bridge to the historic city of Stirling. Here you have the chance to spend some leisure time exploring the town’s imposing fortress—Stirling Castle—where you can take in views of the proud tower of the National Wallace Monument across the Forth Valley.

Journey through Trossach National Park—Scotland’s first—and admire the wealth of lakes, mountains, and forests that fill the homeland of fabled outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor. Upon arrival on the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond—the largest freshwater expanse in Scotland—enjoy some free time to tour on your own. Try the national dish of haggis at a local pub for lunch, take a stroll along the lakefront, or find a lookout point for stunning views of the loch and mountain of Ben Lomond.

Make a stop at Glengoyne Distillery, which has been producing Highland single malt whisky matured in the Lowlands since 1833. If Scotch whisky strikes your fancy, you can choose to embark on a guided tour to uncover the secrets and sample Scotland’s favorite spirit straight from the cask, or opt to stroll around the tranquil grounds before your return ride to Edinburgh.
