Description:

Kayak along some of the best-hidden Big Island treasures on a snorkel tour among tropical fish and exotic coral reef. This 3.5-hour adventure leads you to blow holes, sea caves, and lava tubes, giving you ample time to explore the terrain, meet the wildlife, and even cliff jump.

Depart from Keauhou Bay in a single or tandem kayak and paddle toward the south side of Kona. Keep your eyes peeled for lively Hawaiian spinner dolphins swimming in the distance and sea turtles bobbing their heads above the ocean's surface. Along the way your knowledgeable guide points out significant landmarks, illuminating Hawaii's incredible history and legends.

Arrive at a sea cave, link kayaks with your group, and dive into the warm, clear water to explore a vibrant underwater world. Your animal encounters may include octopus, parrotfish, yellow tang, eel, and rainbow fish. See if you can spot—and pronounce correctly—the Hawaii state fish, the humuhumunukunukuapua'a.

Head back to your kayak to ride over underwater lava tubes and into another sea cave. Bring a flashlight and walk over tide pools to watch eels hunting curious crabs. Give your body a rest on a cliff's lookout point and enjoy some tropical snacks and beverages. If you're feeling even more adventurous, jump off the 12- to 25-foot (3- to 7-m) cliff into the deep water.
