Description:

Immerse yourself in Jewish culture as you tour the historic district of Kazimierz. Visit synagogues, cemeteries, monuments, and local deli food shops, then see the famous Oskar Schindler's factory and learn all about this ethnic German industrialist and his legacy in the community.

Follow your guide and ride a local tram to the district of Kazimierz. Wander through the narrow streets and look out for hidden gems as you make your way to the Old Synagogue. Next, hear about Jewish funeral traditions as you visit the oldest Jewish cemetery in Poland, where you can see graves of famous people and admire the symbolism behind the decorations on the tombs.

Continue on to New Square, where you have the opportunity to sample zapiekanka, a traditional Polish snack. As you move on, your guide points out areas that were used for the filming of Schindler's List in 1993 and the bridge that commemorates the many lives that were lost during World War II.

Your final visit is the Schindler Factory Museum, the former enamel factory of Oskar Schindler that now houses exhibits that tell the wartime story of the city.
