Description:

With the summit rising to 9,050 feet (2,758 m) and 450 inches (11.4 m) of snowfall each year, Squaw Valley-Alpine Meadows offers winter sports enthusiasts of all skill levels a huge variety of terrain to explore, all on hills made famous by the 1960 Winter Olympic Games.

Squaw Valley-Alpine Meadows boasts 240 runs on 8 different peaks: Snow King, Broken Arrow, KT-22, Emigrant, Squaw, Granite Chief, Ward, and Scott. Approximately 25% of the terrain is classified as beginner, 45% as intermediate, and 30% appeals to advanced and expert skiers. The resort runs 42 lifts, including 6 high-speed 6 packs and a 110-person aerial tram that whisks skiers from the village to the mountain-top beginner bowl and High Camp for sweeping views of Lake Tahoe.

Advanced skiers can ride KT-22 Express to Squaw’s most challenging terrain or explore the Pacific Crest Bowls at Alpine Meadows via the Summit Six Express. Visitors less inclined to tackle rocky chutes and couloirs can focus on the wide groomers off of Roundhouse Express, and the littlest skiers can practice their turns at First Ventures or the hill's many magic carpets.

There's plenty of ground to cover at Squaw Valley-Alpine Meadows, with 6,000 skiable acres (2,428 ha) and runs that stretch up to 3 miles (5 km) long. If your style is more grabs than groomers, head to 1 of 12 different terrain parks to hone your style on jumps and features of varying difficulty, then head into town to hit up the notoriously lively après-ski scene.
