Description:
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and venture into the French countryside. Uncover the charms of Normandy, explore the chateaux of the Loire Valley, and tour Mont Saint-Michel, a commune on a rocky island off the French coast. Overnight accommodation and meals are also included.
Begin your tour with a scenic drive, crossing the western districts of Paris, to Mont Saint-Michel. Along the way, make a stop for lunch at Le Relais Saint-Michel, a restaurant with panoramic views of the rocky island.
Upon arrival, ascend to the hilltop abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel and take a guided tour of the Gothic structure. Continue through Romanesque areas of the islet and see other imposing fortifications and notable structures as you learn about their history. Afterwards depart for the city of Angers, where dinner and overnight accommodations await.
On your second day, enjoy breakfast and prepare to explore the chateaux of the Loire Valley. Your first stop is at Chateau d'Angers, a 13th-century gem overlooking the river Maine and home to the Apocalypse Tapestry. Next, let your guide take you around the medieval grounds of Chateau de Langeais as you hear stories of the castle’s history.
Enjoy free time for lunch in the town of Amboise before visiting Chateau de Chenonceau, which spans across the River Cher, offering spectacular photo opportunities. Your tour is complete with a stop at Chateau de Chambord, renowned for its French Renaissance architecture and medieval forms.
