Description:
Take an idyllic 3 days to explore some of France’s most picturesque countryside, with accommodation and meals included. Explore the magnificent Mont St. Michel and charming nearby Normandy villages. Then, head into the stunning Loire Valley to see the iconic chateaux that dot the landscape.
Day 1 – Mont St. Michel
Ride north and west from Paris on the scenic drive to Mont Saint-Michel. Along the way, stop for lunch at a restaurant with views over the monument, which sits surrounded by shallow waters at high tide. Enjoy a guided tour of Mont St. Michel and visit the Gothic abbey located at its peak before departing for Angers, where you enjoy dinner before settling into your hotel.
Day 2 – Castles of Langeais, Clos Luce & Villandry
Start with breakfast before hitting the road for the Loire Valley. Your first stop is at the medieval Chateau de Langeais, followed by free time in Amboise to find a café or restaurant for lunch at your leisure. Meet back up with your guide and continue on to Clos Luce, the serene former home of Leonardo da Vinci from 1516 until his death in 1519.
Your last stop is the Chateau de Villandry, whose gardens are considered among the finest in the valley. Spend your evening in the historic city of Tours, enjoying dinner at a typical restaurant before retiring to your hotel.
Day 3 – Castles of Chenonceau, Cheverny & Chambord
Your final day is spent at perhaps the 3 most famous castles, the Renaissance-style Chateau de Chenonceau, the dazzling Chateau de Cheverny, and, after lunch, the largest and most recognizable in France—the expansive Chateau de Chambord.
Depart the Loire Valley in the late afternoon to arrive back in Paris in the early evening.
