Discover the landmarks of Lima—the City of Kings—as you follow your expert local guide by the city’s key points of interest and main attractions. Go back in time to the pre-Columbian period and the Spanish colonial era as you wander through historical, cultural, and present-day hot spots.

Your excursion begins in the charming Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site marked by its colonial architecture, all centered around the sprawling and elegant Plaza Mayor. Visit the cathedral, which houses the tomb of Spanish Conqueror Fransisco Pizarro. Cross the plaza to marvel at the incredibly ornate facade of the Archbishop’s Palace, and stand on the neoclassical steps of the Palace of Justice.

The stunning, French Baroque architecture of the Government Palace is framed by a wrought iron gate, and the old Desamparados train station is today used to hold exhibits beneath its charming, Art Nouveau skylight.

As you move on, admire the wooden balconies of the Baroque Torre Tagle Palace, then travel back through the centuries to the pre-Incan, pyramid-shaped shrine of Huaca Huallamarca. Your tour concludes with a visit of the Parque del Amor, where you can admire mosaics and sculptures inspired by Gaudi’s Park Guell in Barcelona as well as sweeping views out over the Pacific coastline.
