Discover the rare tropical beauty and peacefulness of the unspoiled Gili Islands off the shore of Lombok. Travel by boat to the 3 islands—with natural splendor few places in the world can match—for a day of sunbathing, snorkeling, and swimming in remote havens away from the crowds.
Head around the coast to Lembar and board your boat for the day. With the cool breeze in your face, cruise to the day’s first stop, Gili Nanggu. Admire the palm trees dotting the shore and gentle waves lapping a long stretch of a pristine white-sand beach. Then dive into the irresistible water to cool off and use the snorkeling gear to explore the diversity of marine life bountiful in this area.
On neighboring Gili Sudak, tuck into freshly grilled fish while sitting on the beach with the soothing sound of gently crashing waves and then take a break or take a stroll. The more adventurous may want to leave the boat and swim the short stretch to the last island, Gili Kedis. On the ride back to Lombok, stop at the village of Banyumulek to admire its large and intricately decorated pottery achieving international recognition.
