Description:
Explore the natural landscapes of tropical Lombok and interact with locals in traditional villages on this private trek. Observe the fantastic array of biodiversity in the rainforests of Mount Rinjani and visit the hidden Gangga waterfalls at an easygoing pace designed to suit all travelers.
Begin with a look at daily life as you visit a local market in Gunung Sari, and observe the lively activity of stall vendors competing for business. Next, head to Pusuk and start your day's first nature trek in the rainforest near Mount Rinjani. Ramble along trails, listen to monkeys playing high in the treetops around you, and learn more about the area's rich diversity of flora and fauna.
Once you leave the forest behind, proceed to Batu Beleq, a Hindu temple with a vantage point high on a hillside that offers far-reaching views of the surrounding area. In the village of Bentek, meet pupils of the local school for some insight into life in the region.
From Gangga village, take part in the day's second short trek as you pass through plantations and rice paddies to the hidden site of the Gangga waterfalls. The passage through a gorge to reach the cascading falls feels adventurous, and the reward is the idyllic scenery of the tranquil location.
After a picnic lunch at the falls, continue to the village of Melaka, a fishing town where the nearby Malimbu Hill offers outstanding views of the coast.
