Enjoy hotel pickup early in the morning and explore the 2,500-year-old Aztec settlement of Teotihuacan, a mythological “birthplace of the gods.” Follow your local guide as you wander around the city's fascinating complexes.

Climb the 243 steps of the Pyramid of the Sun, traverse the 2.5-mile (4-km) Avenue of the Dead, and see obsidian and jade artifacts at the Pyramid of the Moon. See the bird and butterfly motifs that decorate the columns of the Palace of Quetzalpapalotl and gaze up at the carvings of a snake and bird deity on the Temple of the Feathered Serpent.
