Description:

Get your whitewater feet wet with a 5-mile (8 km) raft trip down the Athabasca River, charging through exciting class II rapids that the whole family is sure to enjoy.

Before you hit the rapids, your experienced guides provide safety instruction and get you fitted with the rafting equipment that you need for your adventure. From there, it’s off to the river where, you get your first taste of the thrills to come as you step into the rubber boat and shove off from the banks.

As you begin your float along the gentle current, your licensed guide provides instruction and offers tips for navigating the rapids that lay downstream. After a little practice in calmer waters, tackle the river’s rolling, roiling, and swirling Class II. Dodge rock gardens and dip into swells and eddies as you paddle along, deftly maneuvering your raft under the careful supervision of your guide.

In between stretches of thrilling white water listen to commentary and interesting facts about the river, the wildlife, and the natural wonders of scenic valley.
