Description:

Beneath the shimmering surface of Maui's coastal waters, a breathtaking undersea realm awaits you. Grab a snorkel or a seat on the glass-bottomed Four Winds II, and immerse yourself in the colorful wonders of a sunken crater or a fascinating coral garden.

Step aboard the Four Winds II and set off from shore. This comfortable vessel is equipped with a glass-bottom viewing area where you can sit and watch the underwater world go by.

If the conditions are right, you can motor across the channel to Molokini, the alluring, crescent-shaped ruins of a collapsed volcano. A Marine Life Conservation District and Hawaii State Seabird Sanctuary, Molokini's pristine waters are home to a vibrant array of marine creatures. Watch for yellow tangs, vibrant parrotfish, and raccoon butterfly fish flitting through rock formations at the crater's edge.

If it's windy, cruise to Coral Gardens, a hidden reef in a bay protected from the waves. Swim along the gently sloping sea bottom. The clarity here is enhanced by the sunlight trickling through the shallows, so it's a prime location for spotting gentle green sea turtles, spotted pufferfish, and bright schools of angel fish.

Little swimmers can grab a “see board”—a boogie board with a built-in viewing window—to paddlearound the surface of the water with ease, and the boat even has a water slide for even more aquatic fun. Grab a drink from the open bar and lounge in the sun as you cruise back to shore.
