Description:

Visit a picturesque working Jamaican plantation, sample its tropical fruits in season, and enjoy a delicious Jamaican buffet in a cool and take a breaking atmosphere in the lush, green mountains of St. James.

Drive along a winding trail through the island’s lush interior and up to the plantation while enjoying breathtaking views of the foothills of the Catadupa Mountains. Upon arriving at the plantation, you are greeted with a refreshment, then you are whisked away on your tour.

The guides lead you across the award-winning, carefully manicured grounds. They thoroughly explain the plantation's history and the crops grown onsite, peppering the commentary with good humor. Croydon is the birthplace of national hero Samuel Sharpe, a slave-turned-Baptist preacher who led a revolt against slavery during the Jamaican Baptist War of 1831, contributing to the abolition of slavery in the British Empire in 1833.
