Description:

Touch base with Italian cultural icons at the Palace of Caserta and the Naples Underground on this full-day tour. See the 17th-century palace, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visit the millennia-old system of tunnels below Naples, and enjoy a delicious local lunch along the way.

Depart for Molo Beverello after meeting your guide, and then descend 131 feet (40 m) below ground to the massive, ancient labyrinth of passages and cisterns. Walk along tunnels made out of volcanic sandstone to see a site that was used as an air-raid shelter during World War II.

Once you're back on the surface, break for lunch at a local restaurant. After your replenishing meal, head over to Caserta to see the magnificent former royal palace boasting more than 1,200 rooms, a large library, a theater, and a garden.
