Description:
Delve slowly beneath the ocean's surface off Waikiki aboard the 48-passenger Atlantis submarine and get up close and personal with a sea teeming with marine life. Marvel at the marine creatures that populate coral reefs and sunken shipwrecks as you float through the tropical waters they call home.
Climb into the air-conditioned Atlantis craft, featured on numerous National Geographic specials, and dive 100 feet (30.5 m) into the clear ocean water. During your descent, peer out the large viewing ports to spot the vibrantly colored schools of native Hawaiian fish, slow-soaring sea turtles, and menacing reef sharks on the hunt for lunch.
Upon arrival at the ocean's floor, go near a sunken Navy oil tanker, as well as the wreckage of a pair of Mitsubishi airplanes—all converted over time from metal ruins to artificial reefs. Look closer and see thousands of species flit in and out of these steel structures. Resurface at the port in Waikiki where you disembark back to dry land.
