Description:

Experience the marvel of engineering that is the Panama Canal from the best vantage point imaginable—a boat traveling through the locks. Admire the complicated and efficient systems of this 100-year-old 8th Wonder of the World as you pass through the Pedro Miguel and Miraflores Locks.

After being picked up from your hotel, step aboard a spacious ferry to journey from the waters of Gatun Lake and navigate through Corte Culebra or Gaillard’s Cut. Soak up the sun on deck or sit in a shaded lounge area as your captain leads you through the famous passageway between the Pacific and the Caribbean.

Continue your cross-continental transit at the Pedro Miguel Locks on the Pacific side of the canal. Witness the inner workings of the canal operation as the ferry is hydraulically lowered 30 feet (9 m). Forge ahead to the Miraflores Locks, and feel and observe the boat being lowered another 60 feet (18 m), then venture back out into the waterways as the lock doors open on the other side.

Snap a photo as you pass under the massive Las Americas Bridge, which marks the entrance to the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy lunch on deck before your trip ends at either the Port of Balboa or Amador, where you disembark for the return drive to your hotel.
