Description:

Spend 2 days exploring the natural wonders around Melbourne. Ride up the Great Ocean Road, which hugs dramatic sea cliffs and curves through hinterland rain forests, and get up close to native Aussie critters with visits to wildlife conservation centers and the Phillip Island Penguin Parade.

This tour also comes with the Melbourne Attractions Pass. Use it at your leisure to visit the undersea creatures of the SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium and to see the city from above at the Eureka Skydeck 88.

Day 1
Set out for a day filled with stunning coastal scenery as you ride along Australia's Great Ocean Road. Stop in the seaside townships of Lorne and Apollo Bay, and admire the sky-high eucalyptus trees in the Great Otway National Park.

At the Cape Otway Lighthouse, gaze out over the Southern Ocean and Bass Strait before tucking into a delicious barbecue lunch. The final stretch of your drive takes you by the craggy, wave-shaped formations of the Shipwreck Coast. Stop at Loch Ard Gorge's emerald bay, and descend the Gibsons Steps to stand at the base of the 12 Apostles, which rise from the surf like the vestiges of an ancient oceanic fortress.

Day 2
Depart Melbourne and stop at the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, where you can hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies. Enjoy lunch near a billabong teeming with native water birds, and then head to the Churchill Island Heritage Farm, where you can tour the grounds of the historic Amess House and watch a sheep-shearing demonstration. Visit the nearby Koala Conservation Centre to glimpse these cuddly, eucalyptus-loving marsupials.

Finally, arrive on Phillip Island, catching views of the Nobbies and Seal Rocks before finding a seat on the boardwalk at Summerland Beach. Every night at sunset, hundreds of little penguins swim in from a day of fishing and scurry across the shore to snuggle into their burrows. Return to Melbourne after this utterly enchanting spectacle.
