Start at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and get an astronaut's look at the Space Shuttle Atlantis, which just took its final flight in 2011. See its giant payload bay doors opened wide, just like they are in space, and interact with more than 60 touchscreens and simulators. Attempt to dock the shuttle to the International Space Station (ISS), feel the weightless sensation of zero gravity, helm the cockpit, and more.
As you get a handle on being an astronaut, learn about the complex engineering that made such feats as the Hubble Space Telescope and the ISS possible. Before lunch, check out an IMAX movie or the Shuttle Launch Experience. Then listen to a real NASA astronaut speak as you fill up on a buffet. Don't forget to snap some pictures and get a few autographs in the process.
Afterward, hop on the Kennedy Space Bus for a guided 2-hour tour. Pass former launch pads, stop at vehicle assembly buildings, and learn inside information from your expert guide. Finish at the Saturn V Center, where you can get up close with a rocket and touch a moon rock.
