Immerse yourself in the Spanish colonial and ancient history of Cholula with a guided visit to walk the tunnels of the Cholula pyramid, admire the Mexican Baroque architecture of its churches, and learn the secrets behind the craft of Talavera pottery.

After being picked up at your hotel, make your way to a Talavera workshop, where you can see artisans craft this beloved, 16th-century style of pottery using traditional methods. Admire the vivid colors and detailed designs of the potters before continuing on to Tlachihualtepetl—the Great Pyramid of Cholula.

At a towering 180 feet (55 meters), this is the largest pyramid in the New World. Learn about the mythology behind the temple as you explore its tunnels, stone altars, courtyards, and even a 9-story staircase. Check out famous murals like the Chapulines which depicts grasshoppers and a black skull, and contemplate the grave goods of a man and woman buried in an elaborate mausoleum.
