Description:

Discover your inner adventurer when you spend hours rappelling and sliding down the aquatic-style Routeburn Canyon on New Zealand’s South Island. Feel your senses awaken from the moment you leave Queenstown until your descent into the World Heritage Mount Aspiring National Park.

The day begins with a drive along the shores of charming Lake Wakatipu, through the town of Glenorchy and into Routeburn Valley. Your sense of anticipation quickens upon arrival as you're equipped with canyoning gear. The expert guide instructs you on your equipment and demonstrates safety precautions.

From here, it's a 30-minute walk through a rainforest carpeted in moss, beech trees, and ferns, before entering the canyon. Now it's your chance to push yourself to your physical limits during your descent by negotiating the rock walls, gullies, pools, and waterfalls that carved out Routeburn canyon.

Once the afternoon draws to a close, sit back and enjoy the scenic journey back to Queenstown filled with magical Middle-earth-like terrain.
