Upon arrival at the Tamaki Maori village, get a taste of what the evening holds as you watch the powhiri, an ancient welcoming ceremony. Observe customs and traditions from days gone by, including facial tattooing, weaving, warrior training, carving, and demonstrations of ancient culinary styles.

The appointed chief unearths your dinner, which has been carefully concealed in baskets and placed below hot stones in the Hangi pit. Indulge in a time-honored Maori practice, the sharing of food, with this delicious 3-course feast featuring prime New Zealand lamb, vegetables, seafood, mouthwatering desserts, and more.

At the ancestral Meeting House, Maori performers entertain you with action songs, the Poi dance, and the famous Haka, a Maori war dance with vigorous movements, stamping of the feet, and facial contortions that reveal the whites of their eyes while they stick out their tongues.

The evening ends with the Poroporoaki closing ceremony, featuring wonderful Waiata (songs) and Whaikorero (speeches).
