Description:

Uncover the City by the Bay after the sun goes down as you roll around its waterfront neighborhoods, illuminated Civic Center, and grand bridges. After a visit to the infamous shores of Alcatraz Island to learn about its penitentiary past, embark on a twilight-timed tour of San Francisco.

Start on the sun-drenched docks of Pier 33 as you board a small ferry to the rocky banks of Alcatraz Island. When you arrive, listen to tales about this former prison's 29-year career and wander the halls to see the cramped cells and dank hallways where infamous criminals like Al Capone spent time.

Leave the island when you're ready, unlike its infamous inhabitants, and head back to San Francisco to climb aboard a comfortable coach as dusk settles in. Roll by the Italian-American restaurants and cafes of North Beach, look for the sea lions near Fisherman's wharf, and admire the Beaux Arts architecture of City Hall.

Get your camera ready when you head over the Golden Gate Bridge, whose towers seem to change color in the fading light of day. Return to your starting point, and don't forget to visit Boudin Bakery & Cafe for a delicious meal of soup-filled sourdough bread bowls, fresh sandwiches, and crisp salads.
