Description:

Visit one of the most popular natural attractions in Puerto Rico and embark on an underground journey at the Camuy River Cave Park. After the caves, head to the largest radio telescope in the world where both science and movie production have made their mark.

Once you arrive at the Camuy River Cave Park, board a trolley to descend about 200 feet (60 m) underground. Walk through Cueva Clara, one of many natural limestone caves and waterways carved by the third-largest underground river in the world, the Río Camuy (Camuy River). The huge chamber is 700 feet (212 m) long and 215 feet (65 m) high and is often referred to as a cathedral due to its unique shape. A guided tour provides fascinating information about the cave that was once explored by the Taíno Indians. Keep your eyes peeled for resident bats and frogs.

Continue to the Premium Outlets for some leisure time to shop and have lunch on your own, before visiting the Arecibo radio telescope. This observatory's 1,000-foot (305-m) radio telescope is the world's largest single-aperture telescope, and it is quite overwhelming, covering an area of about 20 acres (8 ha). Although its main use is for astronomy, the telescope has also been featured in several TV and movie productions, such as The X-Files and James Bond's GoldenEye.
