Visit endangered orangutans up close in their natural habitat and explore the rehabilitation work accomplished at Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Then visit the city of Sandakan’s main attractions, including serene temples, lively markets, and water villages.

Begin your tour from either the Sandakan airport or the city center hotel in the morning, then take a 30-minute transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Upon arrival, watch a video documentary and learn about the rehabilitation of orphaned orangutans before walking through the lowland rainforest to witness orangutans at their feeding platform.

Continue your day with a trip back to the city of Sandakan for a visit to the Puh Jih Syh Buddhist Temple, which is situated on a hilltop and offers a panoramic view of Sandakan Bay and the town of Tanah Merah. Stop by the bustling central market to see fresh produce and fish.
