Description:

Join in the watery fun and learn the basics of kayaking from expert instructors on the whitewater of Skykomish River. The combination of theory and practical sessions provides even beginners with the skills required to confidently kayak on Class II rivers all over the world.

Meet your instructor at the River House and start getting familiar with your gear, which consists of a helmet, lifejacket, wetsuit, and booties. Next, learn all about the basic necessities of river paddling, including river safety, river hydrology, capsizes and re-entry, paddle strokes, boat handling and maneuvering, as well as how to avoid common injuries.

As you and your instructor venture away from shore, your practical course begins. Paddle out on your river adventure and admire the stunning scenery around you, appreciating the local flora and fauna. The easy maneuverability of your craft means you can turn and access difficult-to-reach spots.
