Description:

The charming Amalfi drive, which zigzags around hair-pin bends and hugs the coastline, is said to be one of Europe's most spectacular stretches of road. Enjoy the scenic vistas as you drive along the coast, before stopping to explore the splendid town of Amalfi.

Starting in the late morning, make your way out to the charming town of Pompeii and enjoy a light lunch in an authentic local restaurant. Then you begin your exquisite drive to the town of Amalfi. Keep your camera close by for snapshots of the Mediterranean Sea and clusters of white houses that cling precariously on the rugged cliff side.

At Amalfi, visit its striking cathedral, standing majestically atop a great flight of steep steps. Continue to Ravello, which is nestled in the mountains, a cool 1,100 feet (335 m) above sea level. Here, visit the Villa Rufolo, which provided inspiration for Richard Wagner's operas. Stroll through the villa's gardens, soaking up the peaceful atmosphere before your scenic drive back to Naples.
