Description:
Enjoy an authentic Australian outback and bush experience at Tobruk Sheep station. Learn to shear a sheep, crack a whip, and throw a boomerang then indulge in an Aussie barbecue lunch on this half-day trip.
After you're picked up from your Sydney hotel, cross over the charming Harbour Bridge and head out onto the Great Northern Road. Gaze out at the landscape of the bush beyond the city as you approach the Tobruk Sheep Station.
Upon arrival, jump right into life in the bush as attentive stockmen on horseback lead you to Drover’s Camp. Try a mug of billy tea and damper, a traditional Australian soda bread, both prepared fresh over the campfire.
Watch the stockmen and their dogs demonstrate a live sheep muster. Keep your camera at the ready—the dogs' herding skills are worth capturing on film! Later, witness the shearers at work and take part in the sheep shearing if you'd like, gathering bundles of wool from the docile animals.
Refuel with a mouth-watering barbecue lunch, feasting on grilled steak and sausages, damper rolls, and fresh green salad. Top off your meal with a favorite Aussie dessert of Lamington sponge cakes, layered in chocolate and coconut.
After lunch, watch as the skilled stockmen demonstrate boomerang throwing and whip cracking. Give it a shot, testing your skill once the experts show you the ropes.
