Description:

Learn to sail in one of the world's most exciting sailing environments, Sydney Harbour. Perfect for beginners, this 2-day course gives you a great understanding of the inner workings of a yacht as well as how to ride waves. In the end, you're awarded an RYA Start Yachting certificate.

Meet your attentive crew at Middle Harbour Yacht Club and breathe in the fresh sea air as you get acquainted with one of the fabulous Flying Fish race-tuned yachts. Begin with a safety briefing and an introduction to the yacht's clutches, winches, halyards, and sheets.

Then set sail in the open waters of the harbor to master the techniques of hoisting and trimming the sails. Practice sailing into and across the wind and learn how to helm the boat. You even get to practice 2 of the most important sailing maneuvers: jibing and tacking.

The following day is spent practicing these techniques, mastering the sailing skills you learned the day before. Get started with basic power handling and then move on to learning some basic knot skills. End your second day of sailing by earning your RYA Start Yachting certificate.
