Take a tour of the distinct opera house before seeing the awe-inspiring production lore, portraying the connection between people and land in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. Through glorious depictions of nature—from the waves of the Torres Strait Islands to ancient trees of Australia—dances illustrate environmental sustainability, exploration of identity, and inequality through a bright, positive lens.

Artistic Director Stephen Page has constructed a compelling collection of contemporary dance with the help of 3 renowned Bangarra artists including rising choreographic visionaries Deborah Brown and Waangenga Blanco guided by award-winning Frances Rings.

At the heart of Bangarra is a realistic portrayal of past, present, and future life for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Leave lore with a greater understanding of the captivating culture through deeply moving authentic tales presented by talented Australian dancers.
