Experience the best of Taipei in 1 day with a drive to Yangmingshan National Park and Beitou. Discover ancient Mengjia Longshan Temple, visit the sky-high Taipei 101, see the historic National Palace Museum and stroll through Taipei's largest night market, Shilin.

Your first stop is at the Presidential Office Building, built during a period of Japanese occupation. Take photos with this majestic site before stopping at the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, erected in memory of the former President of the Republic of China.

Next, visit ancient Longshan Temple, built in 1738 with and housing relics of both Buddhist and Taoist deities. Continue to Taipei 101, which rises above the city to a height of 1,670 feet (510 m).

Afterward, explore the renowned National Palace Museum, home to a historical collection of Chinese art treasures, from paintings to calligraphy to ceramics from the Tang and Ming dynasties.

Then take a short drive to charming Yangmingshan National Park, which offers splendid mountainous scenery and rolling grass fields. Spot the highest peak in the Taipei area, Qixing Mountain, in the distance before heading to the Beitou Hot Spring Museum to learn interesting facts about Beitou's hot spring culture and history.
