Description:

The Sweet Potato Mama project uses a traditional Taiwanese food to support single mothers and give you a chance to roast and sell these tasty potatoes, learning about local culture, exploreing the area, and helping these moms make a living in the process.

Get acquainted with your local guide at the meeting point and greet the attentive “sweet potato mamas.” Take time to interact with the ladies and understand more about their daily lives. Hear about the foundation's origins and objectives, which aim to help raise the living standards of these Taiwanese women by giving them a way to make an independent living.

Then experience what they do every day. Help them clean, cut, and process the yams by roasting them in a portable, traditionally styled oven. Afterward, push your portable oven to the streets of Taipei and sell your warm sweet potatoes to hungry passers-by.
