Description:
With 2 days amid the vast environment of central Australia, you can see the incredible legacy contained in the country's land. Visit a local camel farm, admire the sunset and sunrise over Uluru, and take a walk between the sheer walls of Walpa Gorge to experience the full majesty of the scenery.
Day 1:
As you head south from Alice Springs and pass through the West MacDonnell and James ranges, visit a camel farm to see some of these locally raised creatures giving rides through the desert. Stop for a look at the majestic Mount Conner before you arrive at Ayers Rock Resort.
In the afternoon, travel out to the 36 giant domes of Kata Tjuta and explore the unusual conglomerate rock of Walpa Gorge on a walking trail that passes between two of Kata Tjuta's tallest domes. Spend the evening at the Uluru sunset viewing area, watching the striking colors of the monolith in the evening light as you take a break with a glass of wine.
Day 2:
Watch the sun light up the Red Centre alight from the Talinguru Nyakunytjaku sunrise viewing area before your guide takes you for a tour around the base of Uluru. Next, ride to the Mutitjulu Walk for a look at the charming Mutitjulu Waterhole, where Aboriginal rock paintings and stories from your guide reveal the history of the place.
Next, visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, where you can learn more about Aboriginal culture and see Aboriginal arts and crafts. Return to Ayers Rock Resort for an afternoon ride back to Alice Springs that brings your tour to an end.
