Description:
The spectacle, history, and rich culture of the Outback comes together for a memorable experience in the wide-open landscape. See the huge domed rock formations of Uluru and Kata Tjuta, admire crafts and artwork from the native people, and listen to traditional stories inspired by the landscape.
Day 1:
Get started in the evening with a meal under the stars at the Sounds of Silence dinner. Enjoy a buffet of gourmet delicacies accompanied by fine Australian wines and, weather permitting, take a break as an astronomer shows you the incredible scenery in a clear night sky, miles from the city lights.
Day 2:
Get up early and visit the Uluru sunrise viewing area, Talinguru Nyakunytjaku, to see the morning light up the Red Centre. After a tour around the base of Uluru, visit the charming Mutitjulu Waterhole, where you can see traditional Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about the area. Stop in at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre to learn about Aboriginal culture, arts, and crafts.
In the afternoon, pay a visit to Kata Tjuta and explore the Walpa Gorge, which runs in between the striking domed rock formations. In the late afternoon, travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area for a look at the striking colors of Uluru in the evening light.
Day 3:
Take some time in the morning to take a break or explore the attractions around Uluru at your own pace. As the tour ends, a transfer takes you from your hotel to Ayers Rock Airport for your onward flight.
