Description:
Venture into the wilderness of the Red Centre to see the vast landscape and iconic scenery that helped to define Australia's pioneer spirit. See historic outposts left by European colonists on their expeditions across the continent and incredible landmarks that inspired native people for millennia.
Day 1:
Get started with a tour of Alice Springs, with visits to historic sits like the Telegraph Station, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, and the School of the Air. See some unique central Australian creatures at the Alice Springs Reptile Park and end the day with panoramic views of Alice Springs and the surrounding mountains from the top of Anzac Hill.
Day 2:
Head out from Alice Springs, stopping to see a camel farm and the majestic flat-topped Mt. Conner. The afternoon brings you to Kata Tjuta, where you can admire the massive domed rock formations as you explore Walpa Gorge. Watch the setting sun cast the giant stone monolith of Uluru in its famous deep red hues before you bring your day to an end.
Day 3:
Watch the sun rise over the Red Centre from the Talinguru Nyakunytjaku viewing area before a tour around the base of Uluru. Next, visit the Mutitjulu Waterhole to see Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about the area's Aboriginal and European history. After a visit to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, where you can see Aboriginal arts and crafts, head back to Ayers Rock Resort.
Day 4:
Have breakfast on the way to Kings Canyon, where you can take a rocky climb to the canyon rim for a view across Watarrka National Park and, time permitting, descend into a natural oasis known as the Garden of Eden. Alternatively, you can choose an easier, shorter walk to explore the boulder-strewn canyon floor before you return to Alice Springs.
Day 5:
Your tour comes to an end in Alice Springs, with a ride back to the airport for you to meet your flight.
