Making your way southeast of Treviso, head to the Veneto region which offers some of the best wines in Italy. Visit a historical cantina surround by vineyards, learn about the centuries-old history of wine in this fertile region, and sample renowned Italian wine with appetizers.
With a small group of 8 people, leave Venice and journey to a historical cantina surrounded by more than 99 acres (40 ha) of vineyards. The fertile terrain of the Veneto region is perfect for cultivating grapes such as Pino Grigio, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Raboso, Verduzzo, Chardonnay, Merlot, Traminer, Tocai, and Prosecco.
Learn about the history of this territory in which viticulture and enology, the study of wines, enjoy an ancient and renowned tradition. The love of wine dates back at least to the Roman age. Visit the cellar with its huge barrels and see how vintners are producing superlative wines today. Enjoy winetasting with local appetizers and then visit the shop to buy some vino to ship home.
