Description:

Witness stunning panoramic views from the summit of Rangitoto Volcano on this half-day tour. Combine your ferry trip to Rangitoto Island with a guided tour on a 4-wheel-drive road train and learn about the unique volcano.

Board your ferry from the Auckland Ferry Terminal and cruise across the Waitemata Harbor. Arrive at Rangitoto Island and make your way to the parked explorer tour vehicle and find your attentive tour guide. Climb into the rugged 4-wheel-drive vehicle and journey through rugged lava crops and native bushland.

Pass by the largest Pohutukawa (a coastal evergreen tree) forest in the world, a treasured fern glen, and rugged lava terrain as you make your way to the summit of the volcano. Take a short walk to the summit along a wooden boardwalk with steps to the top. Enjoy the 360-degree views of Auckland city and the islands of the Hauraki Gulf.

Back on the road train, journey along the western side of the island back to the wharf where your return ferry to Auckland departs.
