Description:

Visit the Terracotta Warriors Army and Horses, one of the most significant archaeological groundworks of the 20th century. Explore more than 6,000 terracotta sculptures and Emperor Qin's Mausoleum. Visit the Banpo ruins, home to artifacts of a Neolithic matriarchal community.

Your journey starts with a pickup from your Xi'an hotel. Arrive at the museum and explore the large archaeological collection of life-size terracotta figures buried in the mausoleum.

The Terracotta Army was created to protect Emperor Qin Shi Huang's grave and his spirit in the afterlife. Although these sculptures have been buried for more than 2,000 years, you can still see the details carved into the warriors’ faces. Walk through extensive exhibits and artifacts and see a movie on this fascinating history.

Break for a traditional Chinese lunch before exploring the Banpo ruins. This site was a typical Neolithic matriarchal village. Dating back about 6,000 years, the women of Banpo were responsible for making pottery, spinning, and raising the family while men fished. The ruins display what was exploreed in 1953, including 250 unearthed adult tombs and children's burial jars—as well as 10,000 tools and utensils made of wood and stone.
