Description:

Set out for an icy adventure in a uniquely Patagonian landscape with a visit to the ice floes and glacier fields around Punta Bandera. Navigate the Spegazzini Canal by boat to admire the grandeur of ancient glaciers, including the spectacular formations of Upsala and Seco.

After you’re picked up from your hotel, gaze out the window as the rugged scenery rolls by during an hour-long drive to Punta Bandera. There, climb aboard a boat and set off for a picturesque cruise through the cold blue waters of Lago Argentino. Less than 2 hours after setting sail, the gigantic mountains of ice, easing through mountain valleys to feed the lake, come into view. Observe the unique shapes of the glaciers, sculpted by water, wind, and pressure over the centuries.

Admire the massive pinnacles of the Upsala Glacier before proceeding to the Spegazzini Channel, named for one of the first botanists to explore the flora of the region. This area offers more breathtaking vistas, including up-close views of the massive Spegazzini Glacier.
