Description:
Trek out of the city to explore the rural Berber life south of Marrakech at the famous Kik Plateau, a rocky outcropping with inspiring views of the region. View indigenous settlements, visit culturally significant buildings, and enjoy lunch at a renowned restaurant in the area.
Head into the Atlas Mountains and climb to the village of Asni at 3,770 feet (1,149 m). Pause here for a refreshment and savor the views of the snow-capped peaks towering above you. Bring your binoculars, as your stop at Tagherghout Nature Reserve yields sightings of golden eagles, vultures, and falcons.
Break for lunch at a famous restaurant in Ouirgane before seeing Moulay Brahim, a well-known place of pilgrimage. Arrive at the limestone Kik Plateau and marvel at the valley and the Lalla Takerkoust reservoir below.
Finally, see the Tin Mal Mosque, a symbol of Berber culture and a significant building in their rich history, before your drive back to Marrakech.
