Discover Australia's Red Centre while viewing awe-inspiring landscapes like Ayers Rock, Walpa Gorge, and the domes of Kata Tjuta. See the sunset against a backdrop of unusual rock formations and spend some time exploring along fascinating walking trails.
Travel through the West MacDonnell and James ranges. Stop at a camel farm for an optional camel ride (own expense) and later stop to view the majestic Mt. Conner before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort.
In the afternoon travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta. Enjoy panoramic views of the southern side of Kata Tjuta before arriving at the base of Walpa Gorge. Spend time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta.
In the late afternoon travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area. Witness and photograph the striking color changes of Uluru at sunset whilst enjoying some snacks and a glass of wine.
Watch the first rays of the sun light up the Red Centre while enjoying a warming cup of tea or coffee and biscuits at the Uluru sunrise viewing area, Talinguru Nyakunytjaku.
After watching the sunrise you join your guide for a tour around the base of Uluru. Travel by coach to the Mutitjulu Walk, where you're escorted to the charming Mutitjulu Waterhole. View Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about the area as your driver and guide indicates some native flora.
Visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Center, where you learn about Aboriginal culture and see Aboriginal arts and crafts. On days when the Uluru Climb is open, those with a good level of fitness have the opportunity to climb Uluru as an alternative to the Mutitjulu Walk and Cultural Centre.
