Description:
Embark on a small group tour that brings you closer to the local people and their everyday lives, all while enjoying the calming sound of the wind and waves. A calming kava drink, delicious Samoan lunch, breathtaking vistas, and attentive locals help you switch into beach mode.
Your Samoan experience starts as you head south towards the Saanapu village, taking in the banana plantations, lush forests, and evergreen landscape. Once at the village, your local guide, Faatupu—and his family—welcomes you. Learn all about their daily practices and traditional way of producing all kinds of Samoan handicrafts, including coconut leaf baskets and plates.
You have the opportunity to join a centenarian tradition as Faatupu prepares kava drink in the open fale (house), before treating your taste buds to a light and healthy Samoan meal with refreshing coconut juice. This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about your host family and their ways of live.
After lunch, your guide walks you towards the beach. Here you can sit back and take a break, take a dip on the glittering waters, or get some more insider knowledge from Faatupu and learn how to make coconut cream before heading back to Apia.
