Description:

Make your way along Bali's rugged interior in a Land Rover Defender on a day trip that grants spectacular opportunities to see the exotic scenery and meet the attentive locals of the island.

In the morning you're picked up at your hotel in Ubud in a Land Rover Defender. Your Land Rover heads toward the center of the island, leaving the paved highways and turning onto country roads and rugged tracks. As your driver negotiates the paths, you're treated to the passing scenery of Balinese villages and rice paddies.

The jeep also takes you along the surrounding fields of Mount Batukaru, an unspoiled land which is often very muddy, adding an exhilarating stretch of driving to your adventure. Throughout your day trip, there are stops in areas such as a traditional farmhouse, mineral hot spring, tropical gardens, and an ancient quarry where stones are still cut by traditional methods to build shrines and temples.

At midday a stop is made at a bamboo restaurant. Located in the middle of a tranquil rainforest, this is a take a breaking setting for a traditional Balinese lunch. Cap off your meal with locally grown mountain coffee and cognac before returning to your hotel in the afternoon.
