Set atop a hill with spectacular views over Barcelona's skyline and coast, Park Güell is a creation of the city's famous son, Antoni Gaudí. Let an expert guide point out hidden wonders and show you some of the most scenic spots to take amazing holiday photos.

This strangely enchanting, lush park of fragrant plants and quirky architecture is where Gaudí tried his talents with landscape gardening. Count Güell bought the tree-covered hillside in the early 20th century and commissioned him to create an elegant district for wealthy property buyers. The project failed eventually, but not before walkways, gatehouses, and plazas were created in the inimitable style of the famous designer.

The bowed staircase right at the entrance is decorated by colorful ceramic tiles and is dominated by a large dragon sculpture. You find the park’s focal point at the top of these steps. Sit on the serpent-shaped bench of the main terrace and admire sweeping views over the city and the Mediterranean Sea. Below this square, 86 Doric columns support the roof, as if they were towering trees in a forest.
